Panchtatva means the five fundamental elements of life - earth, water, fire, air and sky. The colors representing these, make up S.H. Raza's color palette (black, red, blue, yellow and white). The black bindu in this painting, occupying more than half the canvas, represents the concentration of all energy and creation, and the four colored areas surrounding the bindu, represent the fundamental elements of nature, with their equal divisions representing the balance in the nature. The white dot inside the black bindu represents the polarity in nature, the male and female entities. All this is encompassed inside a square, representing their collective stability in nature. The vertical panel right next to the square consists of five subdivisions, also representing the five fundamentals of life. Their representation in form of separate bindus symbolize that they are complete, balanced individual entities. This Limited Edition Serigraph is printed in 23 colors on paper.
